Easter Holidays

Background:
Easter is a Christian Festival that celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
However, it would be better for us to avoid using any religious figures because this is quite sensitive to some of the users.

Therefore, secular customs like Easter eggs, Easter bunny, Easter lily, lamb, and light/candle/fire can be used instead.

Period of Time:
22nd April to 25th April

End of Week 11th April the latest

Gameplay Suggestion:
1. “Easter Egg”  feature – An Easter egg feature is an intentional hidden feature in the game. For example, user has to collect some highly hidden “Easter Egg” inside the game to unlock an exclusive bonus features/ items/ stages.

City Ville – New Collection System

Main Objective:
Collections can always be used as an add-on features of the game – like collecting many different sets of item in exchange of some coins/ exp/ items.
While this can also be used for some specific events to enhance the game play, so as to improve monetization as well.

Example:
City Ville has used this to enhance the game play for Valentine’s event, here’s the details:

City Ville has launched the Valentine’s card event inside the game. User can customize the card based on different art templates provided.


Simply speaking, user can make their own cards and send to friends (request notification).


Thus, each user can receive cards from friends (named as Admirers). User can also “share” a wallpost out to ask for more cards.

Click on each admirer can see how the card looks. Click “Share Thanks” can post a wallpost on friend’s wall.

The interesting part is, there are prizes for user to get with enough Admirers.


Not all prizes can be exchanged merely by the number of Admirers; but also some special unknown cards.
As an example below, user has to receive a hard-to-get card to unlock the heart shape grass hedge.
Thus, this enhances more user interaction but not simply “click and send”.
Also, an “Unlock Now” option is provided for monetization.

Consecutive Daily Login Bonus

Main Objective:
Daily Login is just a basic level to retain users from login daily; while consecutive daily login bonus system is an advanced level to retain users from login daily. The aim is to encourage users to play to the games consecutively. In some days, the users might become paid users!

Examples:
There are many Consecutive Daily Login Bonus System on different Facebook games. Here’re some general examples:

1. Resort World – the “Marathon” encourages user to login the game 5 days in a row to get a stone. Once collecting 4 stones (i.e. login the games 5 days for 4 times; not necessary 20 days consecutively), the user will get the Eiffel Tower! The Eiffel Tower cannot be got in any other methods! On 1st to 4th days, user can only get a small amount of coins/ energy (increasingly); while there is an illusion to the users that user has a chance to win the exclusive items on the fifth day! One important thing is … to give illusion to users that there is a chance to win a big reward!

5. Cafe World – the consecutive days are going continuously; you will know which kind of stuffs you are going to get in the following 3 days (e.g. dishes, spice item, stove part, even Cafe Cash!). Somehow Free Cash are one of the main incentives to the user.

Requiring friends for expansion/ more game play

Main Objective:
Although there are many ways to get the users to spread the words for our games, sometimes it’s still hard to encourage them to take the initiatives to send feeds or invites. There are some shops that required friends quota for unlock; thus user has to invite more friends. Otherwise, user can select to BUY friends (monetization).

Limited time items

Main Objective:
Limited time item is used for an one-off boost of revenue.
After the limited time, the item will be gone.
This is always used to boost up the revenue at an instant. However, we should have mature user based, arpu, and paid rate first otherwise it is not effective.
We should have clear visual, both in-game and Fan Page, to tell user there are offers!

Examples:
1. Resort World
When user enters into the game, there is an eye-catching icon with timer on the left, which clearly telling the user there is an event with limited time (this event is last for 2 days).

When user clicks the icon, a pop-up is showing the attractive item!
The price is marked and user can simply buy it by clicking the more eye-catching Buy! button.
